Villa Tuscan Olive Oil

A walk from the villa is the "The Devil's Bridge" or the "Maddalena Bridge," widely regarded as the province of Lucca's most picturesque bridge. According to the folklore, Saint Julian initially undertook the bridge's construction but struggled to complete the challenging project. In desperation, he turned to the Devil for assistance, offering the Devil the soul of the first living being to cross the finished bridge in exchange for his help. When the bridge was completed, Saint Julian outwitted the Devil. He tossed a piece of bread onto the bridge, enticing a pig to cross it first. The Devil, cheated out of a human soul, was left empty-handed.
